Lempa Ilva


ILVA LEMPA is a graduate of the Jānis Ivanovs Rēzekne High School of Music (1992), where she studied music theory.  She then studied organ performance at the College of Music before, in 1995, entering the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, where she was taught by Professor Tālivaldis Deksnis.  In 1999, Ilva earned her bachelor’s degree, followed by a master’s degree in 2001 after working with Lector Ligita Sneibe.  Ilva has taken part in master’s classes in Latvia, Sweden and Austria.  She has performed in Latvia and Slovakia, and since 1993 she has been the organist for several Roman Catholic churches in Latvia – in Rēzekne, Talsi, Ventspils, Kuldīga, Sigulda and Rīga.  At this time she is organist at the Church of the Mother of God in Rīga.
