The Vienna Boys' Choir
On October 26, 2024, the world-renowned Vienna Boys' Choir will perform in Latvia. The concert will take place in the magnificent Riga Cathedral, offering the audience a unique opportunity to enjoy the artistry of one of the most famous choral groups in the world.
The Vienna Boys' Choir (Wiener Sängerknaben) was founded in 1498 and has maintained high standards of vocal art for over five centuries. The choir's repertoire includes classical music, folk songs, and contemporary compositions. Their performances are always distinguished by the highest professionalism, purity of sound, and deep emotional expressiveness.
The Vienna Boys' Choir is known for its performances on the world's largest stages. The ensemble regularly collaborates with leading conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta, and many others, as well as with world-class orchestras including the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra. The choir participates in international tours, representing Austria's cultural heritage and inspiring audiences with positive energy and enthusiasm.
Many distinguished figures in the world of music and art began their careers in the Vienna Boys' Choir. Among them are famous composers and musicians such as Franz Schubert, Joseph Haydn, and Hans Richter. Their time in the choir not only enriched their musical education but also laid the foundation for their future achievements.
The concert is supported by the Austrian Embassy in Latvia.
