In 2019,Nicolas Bernd was elected from among numerous applicants to the prestigious position of “Wenzelsorganist / Titulaire du grand Orgue de Hildebrandt de Naumburg”. This gives him responsibility for the world-famous Hildebrandt organ from 1746, the only authentically preserved large organ that Johann Sebastian Bach played a key role in designing and also approved. There he is also the artistic director of the renowned "International Organ Summer" and the music festival "Hildebrandt Tage".
Nicolas Berndt regularly performs concerts throughout Germany and abroad, also with ensembles such as the Freiburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Saxon Baroque Orchestra, and the Gewandhaus Orchestra. His musical activities have been awarded with numerous scholarships, including those from the German Academic Scholarship Foundation. He has been invited to festivals such as the Merseburg Organ Days, the Bonn Schumann Festival, and the "Excellent!" series at the Leipzig Bach Festival.
