RĪGAS RITMI 2024 | Jorge Luis Pacheco Quartet (Cuba) + Jose James (USA)

Jorge Luis Pacheco is one of the leading Cuban jazz pianists of the new generation, to whom music critics have already attributed a unique playing style and "flying hands", as well as the status of a real showman. Winner of the Montreux Jazz Piano Solo Competition is also a vocalist, percussionist, composer, and musical director, who has already worked with many groups of musicians in Cuba, the USA and other countries of the world. Pacheco's musical scope is wide. During the pandemic, he also recorded an album dedicated to classical music, The Lockdown Album, in which he translated the pieces of Chopin and Beethoven into the language of jazz and Cuban music. At the Rīgas Ritmi Festival 2024, on July 5, Jorge will offer the listeners a wide musical range as part of his quartet, the main emphasis, as it belongs in the summer festival, focusing on the best traditions of Cuban jazz in his expressive interpretation and creativity.
