Constanze Hochwartner (organ, Austria)

Peter Steiner (trombone, Austria)

Programme: J. S. Bach, G. F. Händel, P. Glass, H. Zimmer

The vibrant duo of Austrian organist Constance Hochwartner and Italian trombonist Peter Steiner combines exceptional virtuosity, stylistic versatility, and striking stage presence. Hochwartner is a highly sought-after artist with rapidly growing international recognition: her 2025/2026 season features an extensive concert tour across Australia, China, Japan, Europe, and the United States, the release of her second solo album NANI Vol. 2, and several world premieres, including Feel the Park, a new work composed for her by Tomáš Borla. Her debut album NANI Vol. 1 (2024), which blends organ music with cinematic and pop influences, gained significant traction on social media and opened the doors to performances in major concert halls and churches worldwide.

Peter Steiner, praised for his “beautifully controlled, vocally infused sound,” is internationally recognized as “the outstanding trombone star of his generation.” At just 23, he was appointed trombonist of the Vienna State Opera and the Vienna Philharmonic (2016–2017), having previously served as principal trombone of the Colorado Symphony (2014–2015). In 2019, he received a prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition.

The duo has collaborated since 2017, when their first U.S. tour marked the beginning of a long-term, creatively rich partnership. Together they have toured throughout Europe, Asia, North America, and South America, becoming a sought-after ensemble at festivals and concert stages across diverse genres. Their joint recordings — SAPPHIRE (2019, Berlin Classics), BINARY STAR (2021), The First Noël (2021), DOUBLE EXPOSURE (2024), and PIPE FUSION (2025) — showcase their ability to create a vibrant, contemporary, and emotionally compelling repertoire that speaks both to classical music enthusiasts and new audiences alike.
